FAQ
How is the feeding amount calculated?
RER (resting energy) = 70 x bodyweight^0.75, multiplied by an activity factor, then divided by the food’s kcal per gram.
How many times should I feed?
Adult dogs: 2 meals daily. Cats: 2-3 meals or free-fed within the daily total — portion control avoids obesity.
Is the label the source of truth?
Always check your specific food bag for kcal per 100 g; this calculator uses typical values (~340 kcal/100 g).
